The Pennings family has been farming in the Warwick area for three generations, notably running one of the area’s primary apple picking destinations. It was only natural for the youngest of the family to turn those apples into a craft cidery.
Pennings Farm Cidery produces hard ciders using their farm’s own apples, hops, and other fruits. Their ciders run the spectrum from dry to semi-sweet to hopped.
Standards include Bone Dry (guess which end of the spectrum that sits on) and Ginger Beet, a blend of beets and six varieties of apples, infused with fresh ginger. Besides cider, the Pennings also produce their own apple vodka.
In addition to a new kitchen serving brick-oven pizza, the cidery also features scenic outdoor space with corn hole and mountain views. They hold events throughout the year (including goat yoga).
The cidery is part of Pennings Farm, which operates a pick-your-own orchard, year-round farmers market, plant nursery, pub and grill, beer garden, ice cream stand, and bakery. (They keep busy.)
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Pennings Farm Cidery is closed in the winter and opens in late March. The taproom is open Friday through Sunday and is a 21+ venue, except during apple picking season.
