The Forsyth B&B is Kingston’s OG boutique property, long known for its excellent hospitality, breakfast, and location. Despite the rise of trendy incumbents, it remains one of the city’s most highly rated places to stay.
The owner, Tamara Ehlin, is a French Culinary Institute-trained chef and is often recognized for her hospitality and multi-course breakfasts. (The many, many 5-star ratings across Google, TripAdvisor, and Yelp can verify. Tamara, her property, and the breakfast are most commonly described by reviewers as “amazing.”)
The Forsyth’s four main bedrooms are each named after famous explorers; an encouragement to the B&B’s guests who are there to explore Kingston and the Hudson Valley beyond. Dating back to the 1830s, the property retains its charm while providing a modern getaway; exposed brick walls are complemented by stylish decor and artwork.
Located in Kingston’s historic Rondout District, the Forsyth is a short walk to the waterfront and to hip favorites like Brunette and Kingston Wine Co. Taking into consideration Kingston’s trendiness, The Forsyth’s universally praised quality, and the B&B’s affordable rates, it’s safe to say this is one of the city’s best-valued getaways.
