The DeWitt Oak Hill is an interior design-lovers’ treasure chest hidden in the northern Catskills. Set along the Catskill Creek, the B&B is equally known for its expertly-curated decor as it is for its excellent hospitality and tranquil location.
Every room in The DeWitt is styled by owners Dorothée & Diane with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern pieces that range from elegant to quirky. In fact, the B&B doubles as a showroom of sorts for the owners’ vintage business, French & Scouser. Most items that you see are for sale, resulting in a unique environment that is always evolving as new pieces are brought in from ongoing antique and estate sale adventures.
Guests of the pet-friendly, four-room B&B are also treated to a three-course breakfast each morning. The meal is a frequent highlight of the stay from past guests, mentioned just as often as Dorothée and Diane’s warm hospitality (and their friendly dogs).
While the small hamlet of Oak Hill may feel like a world away from everything (arguably one of its selling points), the surrounding area has enough to fill a weekend with Catskills road trips. The local area includes Hort and Pott (a unique botanical and home goods boutique just down the road), Ruby’s Hotel (a highly-rated hidden gem for dinner), a local drive-in, and low-effort/high-reward hikes like Vroman’s Nose and Rensselaer Falls. Windham is also just 20 minutes south.
