Though it’s primarily known as a wedding and event venue, the pristine Cedar Lakes Estate makes for an unforgettable off-season weekend getaway.
Across an incredibly scenic property (formerly a summer camp), Cedar Lakes Estate offers a set of dreamy cottages that fit the bill of “rustic-luxury”. Their accommodations vary, from their charming “Sleepy Pine” cottages to a particularly dreamy log cabin for two that’s set on a lake (rowboat included).
In case the photos didn’t give you a clear enough picture of how beautiful the property is, Architectural Digest once named it one of the world’s most beautiful cabin hotels. We’re not sure if “cabin hotels” is a real phrase, but it feels like an accurate description of Cedar Lakes Estate – which is part boutique property, part vacation rental.
During their weekend getaway season (November to April), they host events, cocktail hours, and Saturday Suppers, featuring a chef’s tasting menu served across communal-style tables.
The property’s scenic highlight may be its lakes, but it also features a pool, hiking and biking trails, a 4,000 square foot chef’s garden, courts for tennis, basketball, and volleyball, and views of the Shawangunk Mountains.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Due to their event schedule, Friday and Saturday bookings are only possible from November through April. There’s a two-night minimum for weekend stays.
Between May and October, weekday bookings are possible. During these months, Cedar Lakes opens up the booking calendar one month prior.
Most of their cabins sleep 2 to 4 people, though the Garden Suites can accommodate up to 6.
